the horizon boasts a widowed light that punches pinholes between the sycamores and pines

on sunday johanna texted me and said that we should have a scone-brunch. so i packed my flour and green tea and other necessities and took a bus and a train to her place.

on our way to the store she talked about other lovely cheap grocery stores and about this great shopping centre near her home.

while waiting for others we spent time on the veranda or terrace or what is it called.

and low and behold i for sures am one of those who can take pictures of every phase of the baking and make such a good blog post of it all! no but really it was a really nice apple pie we baked so the world deserves the recipe:

the apple pie that everybody loved:
- get apples. bitter ones. straight from the tree. maybe six or seven.
- chop them into pieces. put cinnamon on them and mix and let them hang out while you do the rest.
- melt some butter. much of it. 400g to be exact.
- add sugar into a bowl. 3 dl.
- throw in the melted butter.
- add some flour. 2 dl. take some of this dough into another bowl.
- add oats (havregryn / kaurahiutaleita) into The Other Bowl until the dough is sort of thick but still not quite. estimate!
- now into the first bowl you shall add 3-4dl of flour and 1egg and 1,5dl of milk and 2teaspoons of baking powder and 2teaspoons of vanilla sugar and a little bit of salt.
- pour all of this on one of those big oven-forms. add apples. add sugar and cinnamon on top if you like (we did). add the oat-thingy from The Other Bowl.
- 30 min in 200degrees celsius!
serve with great amounts of vanillasauce mmmmm.

scones we made as well. even ate them with marmelade like your supposed to. take any recipe and add spinach and roasted nuts of your own choice. and oh yeah, lots of cheese too!

rest of the evening we spent watching music videos we like the most. sometimes i read some. sometimes we ate some more pie. this is one of my favourite ways to spend my free time.
